Modern World History
This course will take an inquiry-based approach to investigating World History in order to examine multiple perspectives and make connections between the past and our lives today. Students will analyze both continuity and change throughout the course of history. Focusing on the 20th century and beyond, we will analyze the impact of science, technology, the arts and religion on both indigenous and urban society, and take a close look at industrialization & globalization, colonialism & imperialism, and major social, labor, and political movements.
This course focuses on the 20th Century and beyond: Where we come from, where we are, and where we are headed. Using all the information gathered in Geography, this class asks “why and how did we get to this point, and where are we headed?” As a class, we look back at world history, particularly the 20th century, for answers.
